I realized before graduation that I didn't want to be a Physical Therapist however with some poor guidance from my counselor I stayed my course. Just four years after graduating I left Physical Therapy to become an artist. I knew I could support myself with my healing therapies - but life took a different turn.
It was at this time that I met my husband. The short version is that we moved to South Africa in 2000. I took an amazing course in Therapeutic Aromatherapy during which time I found out we were expecting our first child. In 2006 our fourth child was born. Three boys and one girl. It was and remains an amazing adventure through which I maintain a thirst for creating, painting, drawing, writing.
I now am an artist, wife, mother, homeschooler. If I do something I do it passionately - there are no in-betweens for me. I love colour and shapes. I love my partner. I love my children and I homeschool them from this wellspring of love for who they are. One of my children has chosen to go to school.
In 2011 I was able to participate in two group exhibitions and I began the Make Your Marks, Make Your Splashes course to learn to illustrate children's books.
2012 Began with a trial at the Andrew Owen School of Art on a very part-time basis. Time is my major constraint at this point so we will have to see how this works out.
